Weigh-In (All)

Another week down... what happened, ladies?

Tiffany

Hi there, 220's... so nice to see you.
230's- I'd like to not see you ever again, thanks. :)
I'm about 6.something pounds away from 20 pounds lost. I'm hoping to see that by the end of the month.

Melissa:

Well down another pound this week for a total of 57 gone!  Whoohoo!  I'd love to lose 3 more pounds by June 30th when I have to get weighed in for my barre class challenge.  But, like Amanda, I'd like to step away from being so dependent on the scale to dictate my success.  I am for ditching the scale for a month and focusing on fitness and exercise as my goals.  Like, I ran 5 miles on Friday and was sooo stinkin proud of myself!  But then was bummed that the scale was only down 1 lb.  So I am going to focus on increasing my miles each week and continue eating as clean as possible!

Teri:

Woot, 25 lbs gone, it is a beautiful thing!  Of course, this mama would like to lose a bit more but much like Amanda and Melissa, I am tired of being a slave to the scale. In the last few weeks, I have become obsessed with the number on the scale, checking daily to see what number I am at, whether I am fluctuating, etc. While it is helpful to get me to a lower weight on Friday morning, it is not a healthy frame of mind, and I would like to just focus on doing what I have been doing - tracking my food, continuing to eat healthy, working out, and getting stronger.  We will see if I am strong enough to resist, but I would like to give it a shot!

Amanda:

I got on the scale Friday, but didn't get a picture. I was at 177.4 - not my finest. This is it for me, I'll check in with you all weekly, but I am off the scale until my ONE YEAR mark. I am going to make these next 3-4 weeks about hard work and how I feel, not about what I weigh.

Lauren:

Another loss this week.  I was so busy party planning that I figured it would be a loss.  Next week is going to be very rough though.  Ugh.  We are traveling to an indoor waterpark with the kids and it turns out I am going to be on my own with them for most of the first day.

Erin:

Welp, still no camera, but I weighed in at exactly 210 on Sunday morning. Not a huge loss, but I wasn't expecting it to be. I messed up my toe good Wednesday by stubbing it which made it bleed and jacked up my toenail. It got infected and sore, so I haven't been able to work out because it hurt to even walk on it a certain way. It is getting better, so I hope I can run in the next couple of days with my new to me jogging stroller. I especially want to be able to run this weekend to support Teri, Amanda, and Melissa who will be running their 5k :)

 Cheryl:

After being gone 2 weekends in a row, hosting a baby shower and attending a retirement party, I finally am in control! I started the day with a healthy 4.6 mile walk!  I am down 3 lbs since my last weigh in here, down 1 lb since last week.

Weigh In (All)

Another week down, hopefully some pounds went with it...

Melissa:

Down 2 lbs this week for a total of 56!!  And um, hello 180s!!!  The last time I was here was probably in college in 2002.  So excited to see the scale going down.  I am more happier about the real changes I have made in my life!  I was alone and annoyed on Friday night but I did not turn to food to help me!!  I just drank plenty of water and then read for a couple hours!  Before I would have totally had some chocolate, or anything else I could find in the house.  Even on my indulge day today I didn't even feel like going crazy and eating poorly.  I know this new mind frame will stay with me as I continue this journey!

My goal for the week, attend my usual 3 Barre classes and then run 3x.  It's my last week of school and then I am off for the summer!  So I will begin to adjust my new lifestyle to my change in schedule for the summer!  I am also going to start training for a half marathon and moving towards longer runs once a week.  I am very excited about the summer and making myself healthier!

Teri:

Down 2.8 lbs this week, just shy of 25 lbs lost. I was so excited!  This week, I only worked out 3x but I one day I actually ran to the gym and back, and did my 30 minute circuit training.  I need to get some cardio in anyhow, so what better way than to run to and from the gym. I NEVER would have attempted to do this in the past, so I was quite proud of myself.  I also shaved 2 minutes off of my 5K time, which I hope pays off at our CTC 5K run in 2 weeks.

As for eating, I really bumped up my protein intake, and I think that makes a difference for me. I noticed that when I tend to eat more protein each day, my body responds better. So, I plan to keep that up!  This week, I will be hitting the gym at least 2x with another day or two devoted to a run.  My husband is out of town all week, so I may also do some Zumba on the PS3 so I don't need to figure out childcare on those evenings.  I am also finding that its easier to make better choices when eating out for celebrations, my motivation is wearing the size 10 J Crew shorts and a pair of Gap jeans that I bought before I found out I was pregnant three years ago, some with tags on them still, that now zip up comfortably, without spanx! Score!!

Erin:
Still no camera around these parts, I am going to have to remember to borrow Jeremy's phone this week for weigh-in. But, I am down to 210.2! Not a big loss, but I will take 1.2 lbs. I am really kicking it into high gear this week with the running and Jillian Michaels workout DVDs. I am also going to start eating 6 small meals a day, upping my water intake, and trying to cut out all white carbs/sugars and processed foods. Can't wait to see what this week's weigh in brings.

Tiffany:
I'm on my phone bc I don't have any time to myself to actually get on the computer but I figured a non-formatted quick post is better than Melissa kicking me out for not posting. :-P

Anyway I weighed in Sat at 230.8 which is a loss of 2.4 pounds. I attribute it fully to drinking at least 120 ounces of water every day. I sure as heck didn't eat well- birthday celebrations and anniversary celebrations. Hopefully this week I can keep up the water intake AND eat healthy.

Lauren:
Still losing.  Not my fastest- but I'll take it.  I hope to get more exercise in this week, last week was tough!

Nikki:
I'm late checking in, but I wanted to quick post that I weighed in this week at 185.8, the same weight as last week.  I wish it were a loss, but at least it's not a gain.  I ate well last week, except the night before weigh-in, we went to the Olive Garden and I ate lots of cheesy goodness.  Things are really hectic right now, we're madly cleaning out our house and getting ready for a big move so it's been a challenge to eat healthy when it's not always the most convenient.  But, I really want to lose the weight so I'll keep chugging along.

Accountability (Erin)

I had a discussion with my husband this past weekend about holding me accountable for my actions. I told him that I wanted him to be brutally honest with me, no matter what. If he thinks I am slacking on exercise, I want him to tell me. I told him what days I was planning on doing C25K and my Jillian Michaels workouts and if I tried making an excuse to tell me to get off my butt and exercise. He also has free reign to tell me to step away from the food/drinks if need be. I told him I need an ever present person in my life to help hold me accountable for my actions (besides you ladies of course ;-)) and so far he has held up his end of the deal. He has come home every day this week so far and asked when I am going to work out and we discuss what we both ate that day. He has also been telling me he is proud of me, which makes me happy.

I also made the decision that I need to hold myself accountable for my actions. Eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's is a temporary good feeling, it won't make me feel better afterwards. Drinking a soda is just empty calories, my body will much more satisfied eating my calories in a healthy way. Eating a salad for lunch will make me feel better than eating a Big Mac. Exercising each evening will give me time alone, make me sweat, and make me feel good about myself, sitting on the couch all night won't. By doing all of these things I will help myself lead a new, healthier lifestyle and set good, healthy examples for my children.

Weigh-In (All)

Hellllllo, anyone weighing in this week?? :)

Tiffany

If you look at my picture from last week then I'm down 2 pounds and if you go according to my 'edit' of my Sunday weigh-in then I'm up .6 pounds. Basically, nothing to report here. I'm going to try to kick it up a notch this week because I'd REALLY like to be in the 220's by next weekend. Monday is my birthday and Thursday is my anniversary so it's going to be a tempting week. But, I'm going to try. Motivate me! :)

Nikki:

I'm back!  I took a couple weeks off from weighing in.  Partly from frustration of the scale not budging for the past 2 months or so and also I've been super busy.  So instead of focusing on cutting the crap out of my diet (and I did quite the opposite on my little break) I have been focusing on cutting the crap from my house in order to sell it and downsize our belongings in preparation for our move to Alaska in August.  Also, family was in town visiting and we were out of town for a wedding so I indulged in some goodies.

So I kind of have an excuse for eating badly lately.  Ok, not really, I just needed a break and apparently that helped.  Despite making poor food choices, the scale shows the lowest number I've seen in about 4 years.  I think I was around 185 for my wedding, although I didn't have this wonderful post-baby belly flab that won't go away.  I am thrilled to see the scale change in the right direction but I just don't get it.  When I try to lose weight, nothing happens, when I don't try, I actually lose.  I am hopping back on the wagon and will make better food choices this week.  So it'll be interesting to see what happens at next weeks weigh-in.

Teri:

I am up 1.4 this week. Honestly, I am not surprised at all. I was on vacation for most of last week, and while I tracked my food and stayed in control, I did indulge in champagne and other drinks each day. Something that I rarely do, but hey, I was at the beach:)  I did workout at the gym while at the resort, and we walked into town via the beach, which was about 1.5 miles each way.  I drank tons of water when I returned to get my bloat under control, but not enough to get down to 169 last week. Oh well, it was back on the wagon as soon as I got home.

I have been watching what I am eating, went for a great walk on Thursday evening, and plan to hit the gym and/or run a few days this week. We are dealing with some sickness around these parts with the little one, so I haven't been able to get out and hit the gym as I had planned.

I am hoping to see less than 169 on Friday, and be back on track. I am also hoping that I can amp up my running to get ready for our CTC 5K in a few weeks! Praying that I can run the entire race, but if not, completing it under 40 minutes is my goal!!

Amanda:

Up a pound this week - blah. I do my best tracking/sticking to a routine while at work. I pack and plan my meals, I don't have access to a stocked refridgerator and I drink water, water, water all day long. Last week I only worked three days, which means that was only 3 days that I was on my game. However, I did walk/run my first 5K of the season (42:44) and I made it back to ZUMBA! I didn't realize how much I missed both of those things until I did them again. Finally out of my miscarriage slump and motivated by our CTC get together coming up, I am back in the game, sisters!

This week I plan to track Monday - Friday. No cheats. I also am picking up an extra 2.5 walking with my sister in-law on Tuesdays. I hope to get off my butt every day this week, even if it is just a 1 mile, 12 minute jog around the block.

Melissa

Down another pound this week for a total of 54 lbs.  I am going to exercise every day this week except possibly Friday!  I am signed up for my barre class for Sunday, Monday, Wed and Thurs since it's supposed to rain all week and I loathe the treadmill!!  I am also thinking about joining a free weekly 5k run in the town over.  I just have just horrible memories of always being the last one done with the long run from high school that I do not want to relive that.  I might give it a go next week since I know someone also doing it!  This journey is all about new challenges and getting out of our comfort zone, right???

So I'd love to hit down 60 by our GTG, but I am trying to be realistic and not set myself up to be disappointed so I'd like to hit 55 by then.  Any more than that, great!  I also just started a Skinny Jean Challenge through my Barre Class.  It basically is 60 days long, I commit to at least 2 classes a week, take 10,000 steps a day, no artificial sweeteners, 64 oz of water a day, track all my calories (although according to the instructor I should be eating about 1600 calories a day, yeah, um no thanks!), and I get weighed and measured at the beginning, middle, and end.  The focus is losing more inches than weight, so we'll see what happens!!

I am so looking forward to running with Teri and Amanda and I  hope I can keep them motivated to run the entire race!  We're gonna Push it, push it good!!

Erin

I still have no functioning camera, but I was up to 211.4 this week. Not surprising since the holiday and all of the family cook-outs, I was not very strict in the food and drink area. I started the C25K program yesterday morning, and I actually enjoyed it! I think part of it was the fact that I had more than a half hour all by myself for a change. I am in search of a 5K to run in Sept or Oct so that it gives me the kick in the butt to keep on training and running. I also enlisted my husband's help and told him to not hold back and to help keep me on track, no matter what he has to say or do (well within reason). I am also starting a clean eating diet as of today. Wish me luck!

Cheryl:
Thursday night I hit a low. I was talking to the other June 08 girls on your board and wondering how they keep their motivation. Melissa and Amanda hit home with me somehow! I am journaling every piece of food that comes into my mouth and really focusing on more exercise! Voila in 2 days I have lost 3 pounds! Its amazing diet and exercise really works!

Lauren:
Down .6 this week.  Slow, slow, slow.  On the plus side it isn't a gain, which is what I was expecting after this hectic week including throwing a surprise baptism party at our house when I found out that my husband had scheduled our son's baptism without sharing the news with anyone, including me.  I don't want any of the cupcakes to stick so I need to really amp up this week.

Weigh In (All)

Another week is history... did any weight go with it??

Melissa

Well I was down 2 lbs this week to bring my total to......... 51 lbs!!!  Whoohoo!  I'm over half way done with my weight loss goal!  I worked hard this week because I really wanted to reach that 50 lb mark.  I worked out every day but Friday.  I went to my Barre class and ran twice!  Then today I ran another 5k and beat my time by, um 1 lousy second.  But I am glad that I didn't take longer since I really hadn't run much in the past 3 weeks.  Anyway, my goal for this week is to go to my barre class 2x and then run at least 2x.

Teri

I am down, but only another whopping .7 lbs.  I did Zumba on the PS3 two days last week, and its actually a pretty good workout!  However, this week I am pushing myself. I hit the gym today and kicked my rear in gear. My goal is to workout at least 4x this week, I really want to see the 160s on Friday.  While I have been pretty good with staying in the 1200 calorie range daily, I am not always making the best choices. I went to Trader Joe's today, got some yummy filling snacks and hope it pays off! I am also trying to stay in check since I will be headed to Mexico on vacay next week!

Tiffany
Down 5.2 pounds. That's great and all but I just don't get it. This week wasn't really any different than last and I only lost .5 pound last week. Whatever, I'll take it... I just don't know what to do differently to ensure I keep losing. I'm down a total of 10 pounds since starting weight watchers exactly a month ago. Not too bad I guess. :)

This week I want to keep my eating in check (no fast food!) and drink more water. I'm struggling with the water thing again. I'd also like to go for a couple of walks but it's supposed to be in the high 80's this week (yeah, that's an excuse) so realistically I'll shoot for one really long one and hope for more. We did go to the zoo yesterday so that's a good 4 hours of walking + pushing a double stroller and sweating to death. ;) Even if I don't get those walks in, just being more active during the day is helping (cleaning more, watching tv less. Playing with Nolan outside, etc.) Here's hoping whatever I did last week continues!

Amanda
I can give you my list of excuses or I can just tell you that I haven't been trying at all lately. I'm in a funk that needs to be fixed is pretty much the end of that story.

I made some mini goals for me this week. I am going to get back to tracking, I haven't been doing it, and it seems to be key for me. Also I am going to hit 1200 calories every day this week, not a single one more even if I get extras because I exercised.

I'm so ready to see some progress again. I looked back on my calendar. I lost 50 pounds between July '11 and January of '12. And since January, five months!, I've been playing this game of minus a pound, plus a pound, minus a pound, plus a pound. I want more progress, another 10 pounds. That should be nothing since I've made it this far already.

Cheryl
-1.4 lbs this week!  I have to give credit to that to walking a total of 22 miles this week! I was kind of hoping to have a bigger loss but I will take it! Slow and steady wins the race with weight loss!

Erin

Well, I still have no working camera. I have been trying to find my camera cord to charge it, and so far have had no luck. Anyways, I weighed in at 210.6 this week, so a loss of .4 lbs. I am hoping that getting back to playing women's slow pitch softball will help me get my rear in gear. I played 2 games yesterday and it sure did kick my butt and was definitely good exercise. I am also debating starting Weight Watchers, because I have so far not had much luck just tracking my calories with MyFitnesspal. But, starting this week we aren't eating any fast food at all anymore and no more soda! If it's not brought into the house there should be no temptation.

Weigh In (All)

Another week flew by and hopefully some weight went with it....

Melissa:

As you can see, I'm down another 2 lbs... making my total 48 lbs gone!  So close to 50!!!  This week I wasn't really able to exercise due to stitches on my arm and shoulder so I only attended one of my Barre N9ne classes.  Since I was not able to exercise I buckled down and stayed below my 1,200 calorie total each day.

Then on Friday I survived a huge temptation.  I went out after my school's Lip Sync concert (I was in the teacher act), and sat there and drank just water while several of my coworkers ate potato skins, chicken fingers, and nachos.  Holy crap I don't know how I resisted but I did!!  Actually I think the biggest thing that helped was right when we got there and were ordering I said aloud for everyone to hear that I was not going to be eating.  Since I put that on the table I felt even if I wanted to eat I couldn't because I already told everyone I wasn't going to, so I didn't want to look weak.  That was actually something I learned from my old WW leader.  She said to say things aloud for other people to hear, like if you are only going to have one piece of bread or whatever.  Saying aloud for others makes it more real and you stick to it.

So I survived and resisted and the scale paid off!  In my head I was thinking, "the freakin scale better be good to me tomorrow for my resisting all this!!"

Teri:
My photo turned out crappy this week, but thats ok since I gained 1.1 lbs anyhow. I am not surprised one bit. I had a rough week emotionally, and I turned to caffeine and carbs. I pretty much stayed within my calorie count each day (a few exceptions!) however instead of my normal yogurt and fruit breakfast, I went with a bagel several times, and a yummy Starbucks breakfast sandwich. I recognize and I am back on the wagon this week.

As of today, I did hit the gym 3 days this week, but my workout on Wednesday was really bad. I thought that a good run would help me out of my funk, but it didn't. I was in my head the entire run, was struggling and could barely finish the 3 miles as a walk. I kept comparing my time with the time I had last week, and that made it a lot worse. Today's workout = awesome! I felt better, really wanted to go, and pushed myself! I was pouring sweat when I left, and my body is a good sore tonight! I felt so much better after that workout, and I think remembering why I am doing this in the first place, pushed me harder.

This week, I decided I needed to challenge myself a bit for a few reasons: 1) I want to lose and I want it to be a lot, like to get into the 160s next Friday, and 2) I am participating in the Police Week 5K next Saturday, and I want to be ready, both physically and emotionally.  Therefore, this week I challenge myself to limit my caffeine intake to 1-2 cups of coffee/day, and just water the remainder of the day (people, this is going to be hard, especially when the after lunch exhaustion sets in at work!), stay within the 1200 calories each day starting today, and kick up the workouts this week, both in the number of days and how hard I push myself.

I don't expect miracles next Saturday - I doubt I will run the entire 5K but I want to get a good time, even if it means speed walking! This will be my test before the June 5K.

This will be a huge challenge this week, but this girl is up for it:)  I will need all of the support I can get:)

Tiffany:
We're out of town through tomorrow so I don't have a photo. It was a rough week- too much carbs and caffeine. I gained but I'm not sure how much. Back on the wagon this week.

Amanda:
Will post my picture when I find my camera card. :(  I weighed in at 179.something this week, which was about a 1 pound gain.

I'm trying to remember that my body may still be unsure of itself and that I've been on light duty, which has eliminated my hard cardio workouts that have kept me much on track the past 6 months. BUT it does not excuse the eating, and I have no excuse for that other than I have fallen off the wagon. Time to buck up, and jump back on. I even feel like crap, bloated, all the time - too much salt and sweet, not enough water and healthy choices.

Cheryl:
Down 0.8 lbs! I have really kicked up my walking/exercise this week. Hopefully I will see an even more weight loss next week!

Heather:

Down 2.8 lbs! Mostly due to eating very little.  I got injured (pretty sure my tailbone is fractured) and laying on my stomach is the only somewhat comfortable position.  So I'm not eating much.  Which I guess is a good thing.  Unfortunately, I'm also not going to the gym.

Erin:

The photo is pretty bad, I can't find my camera and my camera on my phone stinks. But, I am at 211.4, so I am down 2.8 lbs from last week. Not too shabby.

Nikki:
This week I'm at 188.7, which is a gain of a little less than a pound.  No picture because I am frustrated with the scale and didn't feel like making the effort to go get the camera.  I've been stuck at 188-190 for a long time and am feeling pretty discouraged.  I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I don't think I am overeating because I feel like I am hungry all.of.the.time.  And there's not a lot of dairy-free snack options at my house so I don't really snack much.  I exercise when I have time and I guzzle down tons of water everyday. I think I need to count calories or WW points just to see where I am at.  Maybe I am taking in way too many calories and I'm just not realizing it.

I was feeling pretty good about my weight loss and how I was looking until I recently tried on some dresses in my closet.  I have a wedding to go to in a couple weeks and thought I'd easily fit into a bunch of dresses that I have since I weigh less now than I have in the past 3.5 years but nothing fit right.  My body has changed so much from having two kids.  I still have a big belly, I even look pregnant in some of my dresses, and my bust size is way bigger.  I will have to buy something but I'm not looking forward to shopping since I'm not too happy with where I am at right now.

Hopefully I can figure out something soon to get the scale to go down, I'm tired of seeing the same numbers over and over every week.

Weigh In (All)

Another week in the past.....

Melissa:

Well I was up .5 lbs this week. I took a pic, but blah, don't feel like posting it. So I'm at 203 lbs right now. I'm bummed about my first gain in months, but not too upset. I ate some easter candy, but also ran 10 miles this week. I tried a new exercise class and was super sore for days! I ran a 5k today and shaved off 2 minutes from my previous race finishing at 36:10! So that's the progress I like to see!!! I am going to run this week, keep my eating in check (we threw out the rest of the candy) and going to my Barre N9ne class on Wed and Sun!

Teri:

April20WeighInrev

I am down 1.4 lbs this week, basically what I gained last week plus an extra .1. I will take it! I really focused on what I was eating this week, as well as put my energy in working out - hit the gym 3x with hardcore cardio and some circuit training. Here is hoping that I officially see 20 lbs gone this week, and if a few extra pounds are gone too, I won't be sad!

This week I plan to continue the same, drink more water, and go to the gym 4x this week. I am also signing up for a 5K for mid-May. My hope is to run and walk, and see how I do for my very first attempt! I welcome any and all support:)

Amanda:

An even 180.0 this week. I know, the scale is going the wrong way. It's so weird/bad/wrong to see it doing that. I did Zumba three times this week, and ate within my new "maintain" calorie goal of 1900. . . maybe it's set too high? Or maybe I should go to the doctor and see what's wrong with me ;)

This week I plan to do Zumba (Tues & Thur) and I need to get back on my walk/ugly jog schedule, especially since I have a 5K get-together with these lovely ladies in two months!

Cheryl:

I have to admit I have been a huge slacker. I have been slacking with exercise and healthy food choices.  Here is my official restarting weight.

Erin:

I am at 213.2 now. I have let my weight go too much in the past few weeks. So, here is my official restarting weight. I am going to the grocery store tonight when my husband gets home and restocking on produce and healthier food. My Jillian Michaels workout is also starting tonight after the kids go to bed.

Nikki:
Finally!  The scale says something other than 189.6!  I'm not sure what was going on but I finally lost weight this past week.  I didn't do much exercise last week, I only ran once, but I did eat well.  I'm going hiking this upcoming weekend so hopefully I will feel more energetic than the last time I hiked now that I weigh less.

Weigh In (All)

Another week in the books, how did we do?

Melissa:

I was very pleased to be down 3 lbs this week, making me down a total of 40 lbs! Whoohoo! I am only 6 lbs from Onederland and can't wait to get there!! I am seeing family in two weeks and can't wait to show them how much I have lost. I'd like to lose another 5 lbs before then (maybe 6?) but I am just going to focus on working out and eating right and hopefully the scale will reflect that! My goal for this week is to run 12 miles (either three 4 mile runs or four 3 mile runs) and stay within my daily calorie allowance!

Amanda:

Another week of maintenance here, 177.6, so technically down an entire 2 ounces. With the weather being nice I have found myself outside more doing every day things: mulching, weeding, playing with the kid and doing less of the have to: going to the gym. I also haven't been logging at myfitnesspal.com as religiously as I had. I feel like I am a very routine eater, so I know what things "cost" and how much of something I can eat - I don't need the calculator anymore, I already have the tool in my mind. I'm hoping for another week of maintenance, if I loose great, if not, I won't be heart broken.

Nikki:
Well, my losing streak is over. At least it was only 0.3 pound gain so that's not too much, not enough to discourage me. And I am still under 190 so that makes me happy. My milk supply dropped last week so I focused on making sure I was taking in enough calories to produce milk rather than focusing on losing weight. And now that I think about it, I don't think I did any exercise all week. My goal for this week is get in more exercise!

Teri:

Photobucket

I finally broke through that month-long plateau, and lost 2.3 lbs this week. I am down a total of 19 lbs, and its a beautiful thing. I am continuing to track my foods and have really started trying to change up what I am eating more, and really focusing on limiting the sweets.

As for working out, I went 4x last week, and met with a trainer. He has started me on a program as if I am training for a marathon, so I have changed up my exercise routine for the past few workouts, and will start circuit training this week.

I am wearing many of my jeans that were pre-pregnancy and they fit perfectly, almost a little loose. I am feeling way more comfortable with my body, and people are starting to notice the just about 20 lb loss. It makes me want to continue doing what I am doing!!

Erin:

I gained 1.6 lbs, but I was expecting much worse. I am going to keep on track this week and hopefully see some loss on Friday. I was just in a funk last week and wasn't very motivated. I am starting my Jillian Michaels workout at home this week also, so that should definitely help.

Having a Rough Week...(Erin)

I am having a really rough week :-( It's been hard for me to stay on track with eating right this week for some reason. I have been very unmotivated this week. Now, I have a rash/hives all over my face and arms from an allergic reaction, to lord knows what. So, now I am getting put on steroids to help it go away. I am scared to get on the scale tomorrow... I need a swift kick in the booty to get motivated again.

Weigh In (All)

Another week in the books, let's see how much we shrunk!

Melissa: (I'll post the pic later):
I was only down .5 lbs this week, but a loss is a loss and every bit counts. For whatever reason I was super hungry on Friday and ate over my allowance. Oh well, I'll just work a little bit harder this week. I also had not exercised since Tuesday because I woke up with a stiff neck on Wed and it's been killing me since! The big 5k is on Sunday so wish me luck!

Nikki:
2.2 pounds lost this week which now puts me over 10 pounds lost since joining the Cut the Crap girls and about 20 pounds below my (2nd) prepregnancy weight.  I can't wait to start seeing the 180s!  We had great weather this past week so I was able to get out and walk almost every day.  I'm itching to go for a run but I don't think running with a double stroller is very doable since I am terribly out of shape.

Amanda:
Down a pound this week, which means, while I haven't met my 175 goal, I have met 50 pounds lost!! Yay! ... no where are my balloons and streamers? :)

I really want to make this week count, but the weekend didn't get me off to a good start. Here's hoping that the daily work routine gets me back on track. Great weather gets me outside more, and spring certainly encourages me to want to look better in a bathing suit.

Teri:

Welp, still 175.5, so no picture again this week. I am so ready to move beyond this number, so I hope this week is the week.

Last week, I only made it to the gym once since the flu hit our house. I was very sluggish during the workout and definitely had to push myself more than I ever have so I knew I wasn't 100%.

So this week, its on!!

Erin:

I am way late checking in, but I promise this weight is from Friday. I am down 2.2 lbs from my first week. I have been doing really well eating healthy, 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, drinking water, and green tea. I just need to get my workout motivation going. But, I would say the first week was a success so far!

Jumping on the Bandwagon! (Erin)

Hi everyone! I have decided to jump on the Cut the Crap bandwagon with all of these other lovely ladies and begin my weight loss journey. I have been following this blog from the beginning and have been inspired by each and every one of these women. I reached out and asked to join the blog, because I am tired of being unhealthy and overweight.

My name is Erin, and I am 24 years old. I have been married to my high school sweetheart Jeremy for almost 4 years now. I am also a stay at home mother to my handsome almost 3 year old son Kellen and my beautiful 1 year old daughter Tessa. I am ready to become healthy for my children and family, but most of all I am ready to become healthy for ME!

Our family Christmas 2011.

I was always an active child/teenager. I played sports year round from the time I was 7 until I was about 16. Once the sports stopped and I graduated from high school, the pounds started packing on. I have been working out and dieting on and off ever since. I lost 30 pounds right after getting engaged in 2006, but I let working full-time, going to college full-time, and planning a wedding overtake my life. I stopped eating healthy and working out, so I packed all the weight back on by the time the wedding rolled around.

I got pregnant with my son almost immediately after getting married. I couldn’t have been happier to become a mother, but this obviously delayed any opportunity I would have to lose weight. After having Kellen I made a career switch from banking to a server at a local restaurant so that I could stay home with him during the day and work at night. This left me with no free time to work out, and let’s face it, working at a restaurant does not really promote healthy eating, especially when you don’t get to eat dinner until about 9 or 10 pm.  We decided that we wanted to add to our family, and I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, Tessa, right before Kellen turned 1.

My personal life has been full of lots of ups and downs this past couple of years: my husband was laid off right before Tessa was born in 2010, I was secretly dealing with depression and PPD, and then I was laid off in the fall of 2011 when the restaurant I worked at closed. I have since sought help for my depression, once I finally admitted to myself that I needed help, and now I am determined to start leading a healthier lifestyle. I am even more motivated to become healthy since diabetes and high blood pressure run on my dad’s side of the family and heart disease runs on my mother’s side of the family. I want to be healthy and present for my children, my future grandchildren, and god-willing my future great grandchildren.  I am tired of being lazy, I am tired of not putting my health and happiness first, I am tired of being the “fat” friend.

I am going to change all of that. I hope all of you hold me accountable through my journey and call me on my crap. I don’t want to make excuses anymore! I am ready, so bring it on!
