Weigh-In (All)

Another week down... what happened, ladies?

Tiffany

Hi there, 220's... so nice to see you.
230's- I'd like to not see you ever again, thanks. :)
I'm about 6.something pounds away from 20 pounds lost. I'm hoping to see that by the end of the month.

Melissa:

Well down another pound this week for a total of 57 gone!  Whoohoo!  I'd love to lose 3 more pounds by June 30th when I have to get weighed in for my barre class challenge.  But, like Amanda, I'd like to step away from being so dependent on the scale to dictate my success.  I am for ditching the scale for a month and focusing on fitness and exercise as my goals.  Like, I ran 5 miles on Friday and was sooo stinkin proud of myself!  But then was bummed that the scale was only down 1 lb.  So I am going to focus on increasing my miles each week and continue eating as clean as possible!

Teri:

Woot, 25 lbs gone, it is a beautiful thing!  Of course, this mama would like to lose a bit more but much like Amanda and Melissa, I am tired of being a slave to the scale. In the last few weeks, I have become obsessed with the number on the scale, checking daily to see what number I am at, whether I am fluctuating, etc. While it is helpful to get me to a lower weight on Friday morning, it is not a healthy frame of mind, and I would like to just focus on doing what I have been doing - tracking my food, continuing to eat healthy, working out, and getting stronger.  We will see if I am strong enough to resist, but I would like to give it a shot!

Amanda:

I got on the scale Friday, but didn't get a picture. I was at 177.4 - not my finest. This is it for me, I'll check in with you all weekly, but I am off the scale until my ONE YEAR mark. I am going to make these next 3-4 weeks about hard work and how I feel, not about what I weigh.

Lauren:

Another loss this week.  I was so busy party planning that I figured it would be a loss.  Next week is going to be very rough though.  Ugh.  We are traveling to an indoor waterpark with the kids and it turns out I am going to be on my own with them for most of the first day.

Erin:

Welp, still no camera, but I weighed in at exactly 210 on Sunday morning. Not a huge loss, but I wasn't expecting it to be. I messed up my toe good Wednesday by stubbing it which made it bleed and jacked up my toenail. It got infected and sore, so I haven't been able to work out because it hurt to even walk on it a certain way. It is getting better, so I hope I can run in the next couple of days with my new to me jogging stroller. I especially want to be able to run this weekend to support Teri, Amanda, and Melissa who will be running their 5k :)

 Cheryl:

After being gone 2 weekends in a row, hosting a baby shower and attending a retirement party, I finally am in control! I started the day with a healthy 4.6 mile walk!  I am down 3 lbs since my last weigh in here, down 1 lb since last week.

Weigh In (All)

Another week down, hopefully some pounds went with it...

Melissa:

Down 2 lbs this week for a total of 56!!  And um, hello 180s!!!  The last time I was here was probably in college in 2002.  So excited to see the scale going down.  I am more happier about the real changes I have made in my life!  I was alone and annoyed on Friday night but I did not turn to food to help me!!  I just drank plenty of water and then read for a couple hours!  Before I would have totally had some chocolate, or anything else I could find in the house.  Even on my indulge day today I didn't even feel like going crazy and eating poorly.  I know this new mind frame will stay with me as I continue this journey!

My goal for the week, attend my usual 3 Barre classes and then run 3x.  It's my last week of school and then I am off for the summer!  So I will begin to adjust my new lifestyle to my change in schedule for the summer!  I am also going to start training for a half marathon and moving towards longer runs once a week.  I am very excited about the summer and making myself healthier!

Teri:

Down 2.8 lbs this week, just shy of 25 lbs lost. I was so excited!  This week, I only worked out 3x but I one day I actually ran to the gym and back, and did my 30 minute circuit training.  I need to get some cardio in anyhow, so what better way than to run to and from the gym. I NEVER would have attempted to do this in the past, so I was quite proud of myself.  I also shaved 2 minutes off of my 5K time, which I hope pays off at our CTC 5K run in 2 weeks.

As for eating, I really bumped up my protein intake, and I think that makes a difference for me. I noticed that when I tend to eat more protein each day, my body responds better. So, I plan to keep that up!  This week, I will be hitting the gym at least 2x with another day or two devoted to a run.  My husband is out of town all week, so I may also do some Zumba on the PS3 so I don't need to figure out childcare on those evenings.  I am also finding that its easier to make better choices when eating out for celebrations, my motivation is wearing the size 10 J Crew shorts and a pair of Gap jeans that I bought before I found out I was pregnant three years ago, some with tags on them still, that now zip up comfortably, without spanx! Score!!

Erin:
Still no camera around these parts, I am going to have to remember to borrow Jeremy's phone this week for weigh-in. But, I am down to 210.2! Not a big loss, but I will take 1.2 lbs. I am really kicking it into high gear this week with the running and Jillian Michaels workout DVDs. I am also going to start eating 6 small meals a day, upping my water intake, and trying to cut out all white carbs/sugars and processed foods. Can't wait to see what this week's weigh in brings.

Tiffany:
I'm on my phone bc I don't have any time to myself to actually get on the computer but I figured a non-formatted quick post is better than Melissa kicking me out for not posting. :-P

Anyway I weighed in Sat at 230.8 which is a loss of 2.4 pounds. I attribute it fully to drinking at least 120 ounces of water every day. I sure as heck didn't eat well- birthday celebrations and anniversary celebrations. Hopefully this week I can keep up the water intake AND eat healthy.

Lauren:
Still losing.  Not my fastest- but I'll take it.  I hope to get more exercise in this week, last week was tough!

Nikki:
I'm late checking in, but I wanted to quick post that I weighed in this week at 185.8, the same weight as last week.  I wish it were a loss, but at least it's not a gain.  I ate well last week, except the night before weigh-in, we went to the Olive Garden and I ate lots of cheesy goodness.  Things are really hectic right now, we're madly cleaning out our house and getting ready for a big move so it's been a challenge to eat healthy when it's not always the most convenient.  But, I really want to lose the weight so I'll keep chugging along.

Diet Kryptonite (Lauren)

Yesterday I discovered the joy that is Birthday Cake Oreos.  They were quite honestly the best Oreo I have ever had in my entire life.  I ate three.  This is a huge accomplishment, pre-diet Lauren would have eaten at LEAST 8.

And then this morning.... they were here.  That's right, Girl Scout Cookies.  I opened the floodgates with the Oreos, and now I am being punished.

Anyone else have diet kryptonite?  Do you let yourself indulge a little in moderation?

Weigh In (All)

Another week, another weigh in... Let's see how we did!

Amanda:

A week late, but here's last weeks weigh in - surprisingly well considering how much birthday cake I ate. :)

Melissa:
So this week was a wash... the scale stayed the same! I must admit I was actually pleased because I was not able to get to the gym since my back was still bothering me. I didn't eat that well... This week its back to the gym for me because I have a 5k in one month!

Teri:

Photobucket

I am so happy to report that I am down 2.3 pounds this week, and finally in the 170s. I am not sure what I did this week that has been any different, but I have really been pretty focused on tracking what I eat and getting a workout in, even if its a quick 30 minutes. The goal is to keep truckin' along, just praying that I don't see a standstill this week, as it seems to happen every week after I lose big.

Nikki:

I've lost 3 pounds since last week, yay!  Good for me, but not so much for my milk supply which has tanked.  I've been trying a dairy free diet to hopefully ease some of my baby's fussiness.  Eating dairy free has forced me to think about what I put in my mouth at all times so I can't just mindlessly snack on things.  Now I just need to think about adding some exercise into my week.

Lauren:

I am starting to lose my drive and it is killing me.  Hopefully this week I will make it to my first goal, which was to lose 10 pounds before my big convention.  The convention itself is going to be bad news for my diet.  My other challenge is that I am weaning from breast-feeding.  I am going to miss those extra calories!  Anyways, down another 1.2 lbs this week.  Slow and steady.

He finally gets it (Lauren)

On previous diets my husband has always been an enabler.  Quick to bake cookies, get take out, offer a beer.  This time around I think that he actually gets it.

Every year he buys me Godiva chocolates for Valentine's day.  Every year except this one.  Here is what he dropped off at my office at lunch:
Yup.  100 Calorie packs of popcorn.  He thought it would be a little bland, so he also got me 2 calorie white cheddar sprinkles.

It is very sweet... but I sorta miss my godiva...

Weigh In (All)

Another week, another weigh in... Let's see how we did!

Amanda

Melissa:

Well the week started off poorly with a pulled muscle in my back, a terrible cold, and tons of food from the Super Bowl! It was a recipe for disaster, or worse, a gain. However, since I was unable to exercise at all I really had to focus on my eating. So that's what I did. I ate only the alloted amount of calories and I drank a lot of water. It worked because I was down 1.5 lbs and am now down a total of 27.5 lbs!

My back is still very sore, so I am hopeful that I might be able to get to the gym at some point this week, even if it's just to walk a bit. I'm really bummed about this, but I don't want to push it and injure my back more.

Teri

Way late to the game this week, girls. I did weigh in, right before I headed out of town for a funeral. I grabbed a picture but didn't have chance to load it. Needless to say, life has been very crazy, hectic and sad:( But I did lose this week - down 1.2 lbs for a total of 180.6. So close to ringing in the 170s, yay!

Sarah

Megan

Nikki

I made it below 200 this week! The scale says 199.9 (the reflection makes the last number hard to read) so that puts me at a 2.9 pound loss from last week, but only a 1.7 pound loss from my starting weight. This past week went better since I didn't eat out for any meals but I did eat too many oatmeal chocolate chip lactation cookies. I really need to come up with some kind of plan for losing weight. That will be my goal for this upcoming week, coming up with an actual weight loss plan rather than just wishing the weight away.

Lauren

I think I did pretty well this week. Down another 1.2 pounds. I really really want to get down into the mid 180s before my big business trip on the 24th. But, I am doubtful that it will happen. So instead I want to hit 188.6 so it will be 10 pounds total... wish me luck! It has been much harder this week with work getting so crazy. I did break down on a couple days and eat some no no foods.

My addiction. (Lauren)

The first week of my diet has been going pretty well.  I haven't had a chance to workout too much, but I have been finishing our basement so I have been burning lots of calories painting, cleaning and building.  I survived the weekend eating healthier options and even made it through my birthday without too many slip ups.  I didn't even have to worry about leftover cake being a temptation because Charlie broke a wine glass at the table and once glass went everywhere I had the perfect excuse to just throw it all away (way to help mommy out, bud!).

Where I have NOT been good is with my one true addiction.

Ahhh, sweet bubbly goodness.  I know you are zero calories.  But you are also loaded with caffeine, artificial sweetners and other non-nutrients.

I have always loved some Diet Coke.  When it is diet time I love it even more.  My usual 1 can per day has turned into 2 (or more).  With late nights painting and hunger striking I turn to the silver can to get me through.

What are everyone's opinions on diet soda?  I have heard that it actually sabotages your dieting because it makes you crave sugar.  I know it is obviously not as good for you as drinking water--- but if I am cutting out so much else is it really THAT bad?

I am still drinking around 60 oz of water each day and a cup of skim milk, but the rest of my drinks are of the cool bubbly variety.

What is everyone else drinking?  What are your opinions on diet sodas?

Face it, I'm fat (Lauren)

Hi, I'm Lauren, and I am overweight.

This post is hard for me to write... but I think it may be a little bit of the kick in the butt that I need to really get me motivated.

You see, I am a serial photoshopper.  And I am wicked, wicked good at it.  I can make my arms skinnier, my waist trimmer and my legs longer.  There is a good chance that any publicly posted photo of me has had a little work.  But, that is not what Cut the Crap is about.  This is about looking honestly and objectively at where I am and how I can get back to a place where I no longer feel the need to change the way I look through a computer program.

The one place that my weight really bothers me, my face.  Lucky for me I have a diary of face photos because of my office's lack of mirrors (gotta check my hair somehow!)  Let's take a little journey.

October 29, 2008- about 152 lbs

September 11, 2009- about 158 lbs

October 8, 2009- 165 lbs

January 13, 2010- 175 lbs

 March 23, 2010- 190 lbs

August 3, 2010 (7 weeks pp)- 185 lbs

September 24, 2010- 180 lbs

November 22, 2010- 185 lbs

February 17, 2011- 180 lbs

Today- 198.6 lbs

I really can't get over how bloated I have become in my face.  I would love to go back to a shorter hairstyle like I had way back in the day, but everything is so round now.

Goal #1 in this weight loss journey--- stop photoshopping and start loving the way I look.
